Obama Day

Posted on Nov 5th, 2008 by Alan : Life to life. Alan
That was interesting, wasn't it?

You know I thought it was important.  Big changes are coming, and we need the guy who can be flexible, not the one who looks for all the world like his body and words are attached to marionette strings.  As if the real him is somewhere behind the stage, and we're seeing his own puppet.  (sorry, john, but that's how I saw it.)

Big changes are coming.  And so I always thought this was pretty important, but what surprised me was the degree to which it became a global energetic event.

And that people around the world were celebrating.

What doesn't matter to me nearly as much anymore is that this is an American event.  Suddenly, for me, the nationalism so evident in our world didn't matter as much at all.

People around the world celebrating as one.  This to me is a beautiful thing.

Ariela the Quantum leaping lady said that it was like a global orgasm...

It was, in terms of feeling.  But in terms of what's coming next, it was more or an ignition than a climax.  We could call it the first thrust.

In other words, we can and must build on what just happened... that beautiful feeling that went around the world, and the reasons for it.   It is good to focus on what the new president represents.  In this matter, the why of it is everything, and it is very beautiful.  Of this, we need more.

Res, the orgasm's in 2012... : -P

What is your relationship to waiting?

Posted on Nov 6th, 2008 by Alan : Life to life. Alan
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 06, 2008:

I can think.  I can wait.  I can fast.

: D

waiting is a bit of a misunderstanding... it assumes stillness in the flux that we are.  If you're waiting for something, you're waiting for one thing to change while  you stay the same.

But you are changing also.  So are you waiting to change?

The change is happening.  Are you being passive while waiting, or are you engineering it?

Waiting... Bluewater in her blog said there's no such thing.

I rather agree.

we are changing, we are shifting, we are shifted and we are engineering the shift... we are the alpha and the omega, changer and changed.

to 'wait' is to be only the changed... waiting for change means, to a degree, not changing.

better not to wait.  better to do, and when something transforming needs the time to transform, better to help it without action, or to spend our energy in other forms of transformation.  When it is time, the wheel will be a wheel, the stone will be a stone.  If the stone is now a river, or sediment on the bottom, better not to sit and wait for it to become a stone.

better to live, and eat, and drink... and aid in what transformations need our attention.

right?

How can you create more joy around you?

Posted on Nov 7th, 2008 by Alan : Life to life. Alan
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 07, 2008:

easiest QAR ever!  : -D

Like creates like.

If you want to create joy, feel joy, be joy.

Have you ever known someone full or anger, who criticizes you for not being more joyful while they are spewing anger?

Do they not prove the point?

like creates like.  The only way to create joy is to feel it.

Every Thought and Emotion is Attention/Lost Great Apes w/cleavers

Posted on Nov 9th, 2008 by Alan : Life to life. Alan

Consciousness is consciousness.  Consciousness directed at any "thing," which by definition assumes the illusion of separation, is attention: focus on an aspect of the oneness of all things, and attention to what is different, or separate, about that thing.

So, even this post is attention to a specific matter, assuming separation.

Nothing within language does not assume separation, so every thought that is put into words so is, and is attention.

To what we pay attention, we attract.

if you are paying attention to what you don't have, and feel negative about it, you will attract bad associations with the things you don't have, which means continuing to not have them.

If you realize that you are your life, and your life is in constant evolution, you will evolve in any direction that you wish, because you will realize the control is yours.

But only. or especially,  when you see the world beyond the words in your brain, the words that we separate with.   It's as if we've tied knives to our tongue.  We carve up reality...

What is your favorite theory?

Posted on Nov 17th, 2008 by Alan : Life to life. Alan
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 17, 2008:

My favorite theory is that because of the imperfections of language, the truth cannot really be known until theories are put aside and laid to rest-- hopefully in the understanding that the opposing theory is and must also be correct, as correct as the original in fact.

I suppose we could shorten this theory by simply saying "Language creates duality."

What area of your life could use healing right now?

Posted on Nov 19th, 2008 by Alan : Life to life. Alan
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 19, 2008:

I have a past-life war injury in my right shoulder.  : )  I'm trying to give it lots of attention but some soldier really it wacked good in that old life.   the shoulder's still pretty wonky, especially right now, but recognition of the root cause is the first step to solving any condition that is undesirable.

we're going to look up a year from now (maybe a year and a half), and it'll seem like suddenly, almost overnight every started thinking about working together to make it a better world, and taking the first steps.

mwa ha ha.

I'm not taking credit, I'm just calling it early and glorifying/rubbing my hands in anticipation/preparing
